User Interface Design and User Experience

Job Description: Boston area startup developing a business to business SaaS application seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Human Factors student or recent graduate to provide the following:

  • Help establish a world class user experience for business users
  • Define consistency of style throughout user interface
  • Ensure ease of use in UI for common business workflows related to buying and selling
  • Assist developers with style-related issues
  • Simplify, simplify, simplify

Required Background:

  • Completed at least one year of studies in Human Factors
  • Minimum three years experience in a business environment as a Systems Analyst or related position
  • Experience creating wireframes and visual designs
  • Personal experience with and interest in social networking
  • Self-starter, be highly productive working independently
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, messaging of all types, and presentation
  • Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, DreamWeaver
  • UI Development experience in a Java environment a plus

Join us for a student alum mixer. HFID alums will be available to share advice about internships, the usability job market, and where the usability field is headed. There is a possibility of tales of usability gone horribly wrong. The gathering will be casual and followed by dinner and dessert.
