UI/UX Designer
HealthcareSource is seeking an outstanding UI/UX Designer to play a key role in defining and designing healthcare talent management applications. These solutions include applicant tracking, performance appraisals, competency management, e-learning, and more.
You will be responsible for designing simple, but effective software for a broad range of end-users, and for helping to shape the behavioral design standards for an entire suite of business software. This is the first position of its kind at HealthcareSource, and it will offer the right person the chance to shape the UX design process and to significantly impact the quality and usability of our products. You will work closely with other members of the Product Management team and collaborate regularly with Engineering, internal stakeholders and end users. We are seeking someone that can excel in an Agile/Scrum environment, which means rapidly turn concepts into reality, quickly model and prototype possible solutions, fostering a constructive and collaborative design process, and get people excited about the outcomes. You must enjoy researching and solving challenging end-user design problems, be passionate about great user interface designs, and have successfully built easy-to-use solutions for non-technical end users.
Responsibilities:
• You must have an excellent eye for modern software design, and be able to explain the advantages of one design vs. another
• You must have experience designing for traditional desktop systems/browsers as well as various mobile devices
• You will provide design leadership and be a major contributor to all products
• You will play many roles including UI design, UX design and Information Architecture
• You will be assigned to multiple projects, and must be able to learn quickly and advocate for consistency across all products
• You will be an integral part of product development, from conceptualization through to completion, and must enjoy working closely with engineering
• You will be responsible for organizing and conducting client and user feedback testing
• You should have a proven record of using design to drive new ideas, inspire creative and innovative thinking, and influence decision makers
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in interactive design, information architecture, or visual design
• Proven track-record of hands-on design leadership and positive product outcomes
• Passion for great design and expertise in typography, layout, controls and color theory
• BS/BA and/or Masters in Ergonomics, UI/UX Design, Interactive Media, or related field
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Photoshop, Visio and Axure
• Working knowledge of HTML/XML/CSS
• Experience with the Telerik control suite and .Net technologies are strongly desired
• Experience with Talent Management software and HR processes a plus
• Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
• Experience and ability to thrive as part of Agile/Scrum teams
• Outstanding communication, thought leadership, and presentation skills
• Ability to move fast and solicit feedback, without fear of criticism or failure
• Proven experience with a user-centric approach to research and design
Work Samples:
• You must have a solid portfolio of web applications that demonstrates user-centric design, breadth, creativity, and innovation, ideally in Talent Management solutions
• You should provide a link to an online portfolio if available
• You should be able to indicate your specific roles and contributions for each project
