UX Software Engineer @ Rue La La (Boston)
Purpose and Scope:
Innovative, rapidly growing internet retailer seeking a highly skilled professional to build great user experiences. This position will work closely with other members of the engineering staff to identify & build solutions to customer-facing issues. The ideal candidate is experienced in web technologies, is detail oriented and has a passion for improving software. He/she is comfortable working in a team environment and within an agile delivery methodology.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Implement innovative new features and maintain the existing web tier of ruelala.com and smartbargains.com.
- Maintain and optimize site pages using a variety of web-tier technologies.
- Work with the QA team to reproduce & diagnose customer-reported site issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent required
- 0-2 years relevant experience (entry level)
- Strong web-tier development skills
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Prototype and JQuery
- Knowledge of PHP, JSP, ASP.NET and XSLT
- Familiarity web services, REST, SOAP and JSON-RPC a plus
- Familiarity with PL/SQL a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
