Postion Summary

Looking for a confident, creative and resourceful Usability Specialist for the Interactive Marketing Department at our client in Canton, MA. The Usability Specialist will be responsible for crafting, conducting and delivering usability studies and other research for web sites, emails and related web properties. This candidate will be able to take usability insights and translate them into actionable recommendations. The Usability Specialist must be well versed in a variety of usability and other research methods and know the strengths and weaknesses of each. This candidate should possess excellent project management and organizational skills and be able to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.

Job Description

* Develop evaluation screeners and recruit for testing efforts.

* Be able to quickly understand the needs of our internal clients.

* Write clear, concise testing protocols.

* Set up testing environment.

* Feel confident moderating tests as well as communicating testing results to key stakeholders.

* Summarize testing results and author debrief reports.

* Provide interface design recommendations with firm conviction and a gentle touch, while carefully reading people so you’ll always know the right balance of each.

* Strategically implement findings from usability testing for short-term and long-term web deployments.

* Work collaboratively with UX group, and engage expertise in information architecture and analytics to ensure an optimized user experience that meets the needs of online constituents, business clients, account service and overall market need.

* Validate the usability of new and existing products and make design recommendations based on evidenced-based findings.

Skills

* Must be able to work at a fast pace with tight deadlines and limited resources.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

* Familiarity with video capture and computer capture tools.

* Interest in learning about disciplines or fields where they are not experts.

* Must be able to lead all aspects of usability testing ranging from recruitment and planning to delivering findings.

Background

* Bachelors’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.

* Master’s degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Psychology or related field is preferred

* Tobii Eye Tracking experience is a bonus
