We have an immediate opening for an individual to lead the technical user experience (UX) development of a wide array of digital communications projects, including Web sites and applications, mobile applications, online and desktop widgets, online video, and more. The successful candidate will have the experience and qualities necessary to quickly assume a leadership role. Along with proven skills and experience, s/he will be responsible for setting and maintaining standards for how the client’s digital communications are developed and delivered globally.

Lead Web Developer/ User Experience Engineer
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
– Develop robust, high-performing, secure, globalized applications for Web, mobile, and desktop environments
– Act as resident subject matter expert in the technical aspects of user experience development
– Continually research and, when appropriate, incorporate effective new UX techniques and standards
– Work closely with back-end development team to create highly efficient techniques for delivering content efficiently and effectively via a wide array of online media
– Participate in creating project-related documentation, including functional specifications, wireframes, architecture renderings, site maps, use cases, usability test plans, etc.
– Ensure that digital communications projects created by third parties adhere to existing UX development and architecture standards
Qualifications:
– A minimum of five years experience in advanced technical UX development
– Highly advanced knowledge of, and experience with, the tools and techniques for technical UI implementation, including HTML, DHTML, CSS, Ajax, JSON, XML, javascript/jQuery, etc. Strong knowledge of Adobe Flash preferred
– Experience working with back-end technologies—specifically Java and related technologies—and how to integrate them with front-end delivery
– General understanding of visual design theory and techniques, including a working knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop
– Proven experience building large, globally-focused Web sites
– A consistent focus on maintaining high standards of technical excellence
– Ability–and willingness—to work with minimal supervision and to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment-
– Experience developing device-independent mobile applications. Experience with HTML 5 desired
– A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., computer science, human factors) preferred
– Ability to accept and manage rapid changes in strategic direction
– Highly collegial, collaborative attitude and work style
