The HBS Dynamic Women in Business Conference is an amazing annual conference put on by the Women’s Student Association (WSA) at Harvard Business School. It is a day-long conference packed full of excellent speakers from a variety of backgrounds, professional and industry-related panels and networking opportunities with professionals and other graduate students alike. <p>Dr. Lampe-Önnerud is a sought-after speaker who passionately and eloquently shares her insights about battery technology, climate change, and environmental sustainability at industry and government events around the world.</p>
<p>She will engage the Bentley community in a conversation about sustainability, the importance of the alternative energy sector to the national and local economies, and the role of entrepreneurs in the development of alternative energy.</p>
<p>A question and answer period will follow the presentation.</p>

<p>ABOUT THE SPEAKER:</p>
<p>Dr. Christina Lampe-Önnerud is a well-known authority in the battery industry and an innovator in the arena of sustainability. She has pioneered the use of lithium-ion and other materials to deliver more powerful, longer lasting, safer, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable batteries for applications ranging from laptops to electric vehicles and utility energy storage. Prior to founding Boston-Power, Dr. Lampe-Önnerud was one of the youngest partners ever appointed at Arthur D. Little/TIAX, where she ran the company&#8217;s globally-renowned battery labs, defined strategies for the world&#8217;s top chemical and battery organizations, and directed high-profile market evaluations. Earlier in her career, she served as a director and senior scientist at Bell Communications Research. With close to 30 patents awarded in energy storage power solutions, Dr. Lampe-Önnerud has earned considerable recognition, most recently being elected a lifetime member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA. She has also received a wide range of awards, including: World Economic Forum 2010 Technology Pioneer; Northern Europe’s Top 2010 Sustainable Leadership Award; Top 10 clean tech companies as part of The Wall Street Journal’s “Next Big Thing List;” Ernst &#038; Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for Clean Tech, New England region; Mass High Tech Women to Watch; and Top Innovators of 2008 by EDN Magazine. Dr. Lampe-Önnerud earned a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry and a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Calculus from Uppsala University in Sweden, and was a post doctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.</p>
